C-MI Labs Plc and Secure Resolutions, Inc announce strategic Channel partnership
Anti-Virus Software
C-MI Labs plc (www.cmilabsplc.com), a leading provider of network security solutions, today announced that its subsidiary, C-MI Secure, has entered into a partnership agreement with US-based Secure Resolutions, Inc, to resell and distribute Resolution AntiVirus, the latest and most innovative web-based, managed security product powered by Secure Resolutions.

The Resolution Antivirus solution uses secure ASP technology to provide an effective desktop and fileserver solution that is ready for dynamic and automatic deployment. In an improvement on distributed server (P2P) technology, computing networks dynamically work together, using intelligent agents and component framework services residing seamlessly on the client. This improvement enables companies to use minimum bandwidth and bypass the need for multiple computers relying on individual Internet connections.

The change from our previous product to Resolution AntiVirus was a matter of services and reliability," says Neil Patmore, CTO of C-MI Labs plc. "Resolution Antivirus (powered by Secure Resolutions) is both fast and reliable. We believe that it is set to become the preferred choice of IT administrators everywhere, as it provides superior security at a very competitive price."

"Resolution Antivirus ability to resolve the problems of remote, off-site users from a central location will create colossal savings in travel time and expenses", says Paul Cottle, President of Secure Resolutions, Inc. "Our technology will allow customers to deploy a software management solution that is both simple and cost effective. Better still, the entire system can be installed, managed, and monitored via the Internet."

Once installed, Resolution Antivirus requires no supervision from the end-user; maintenance, application status monitoring, and updating are performed automatically. Customers can access C-MI Secure's web site securely from any location in order to manage groups and policies.

The software also offers web-based reporting that shows software management activity in real time. This information is immediately available anywhere in the world via a secure link to the C-MI Secure web page. Customers can determine what hardware and software monitoring is necessary by viewing reports that are generated at the individual desktop level.

Although a network is most vulnerable to virus infection at the desktop and file servers, the desktop is also the most difficult and costly place to protect. However, the desktop is the most effective place to put AV protection. The Hands-Off-Technology featured in Resolution Antivirus automatically installs, maintains, and updates the antivirus desktop solution in order to remove complexity whilst significantly reducing total cost of ownership.

Resolution Antivirus offers the latest in secure installation management, as well. IT administrators can remotely install the Resolution Agent to an entire company from one computer, even over the Internet, enabling global management without the need for any backups or server synchronisation. Hands-Off-Technology decreases network bandwidth requirements by allowing client computers to find updates on a local network. Not only does this allow updating behind the firewall, but it reduces network traffic flow over the Internet.
