The C-MI Labs Plc Summer Shoot 2008

The hugely anticipated C-MI Labs Plc Summer Shoot 2008 went with a bang on Thursday 15 May. With over 100 guests, there was an amazing atmosphere which reflected everyone’s excitement for the day.

The day was enormous fun with a range of 80 clay targets from specially built stands and a 100 target flush. The highest score was won by Doug Chambers from Classic Security with a total of 61. The ‘Duck’ award was won by Kelly Davidson and Nicole Vangheluwe, from Kaspersky Lab who both shot 11!

After the shoot came a hearty lunch washed down with some fabulous wine to help the guests digest the presentations from the Sponsors – Kaspersky Lab, Breach and ZyXEL. David Emm from Kaspersky Lab kicked off by talking about current trends with Internet malware and how Kaspersky is leading the way with combating these emerging threats.

Next up was Adrian Jones from Breach who gave an entertaining albeit serious overview of the importance of web application security and explaining where it fits in with the imminent PCI compliance implementation. Last but by no means least was Phil Croxford, James Edwards and Simon Rush from Zyxel, who introduced the guests to ZyXEL and the new ZyWall USG UTM Firewalls.

Special guest ex football legend Jimmy Greaves gave a hilarious after dinner speech and delighted the audience with his numerous jokes, tales and anecdotes. Jimmy announced the winners during the prize giving and the trophies were presented by ‘Dark Horse’ Doug Woodburn, News Editor at CRN.
